Chess Film Pre-Production: Day 2

 Chess Film: Day 2

Today was the second day of pre-production for the chess film. We got into our groups to review and finalize the script of the film. this helped us continue with the rest of our portfolio such as the storyboard, shot list, and sound statement. We then took time to review the rest of the portfolio to make sure everyone understood what it was asking for and what we needed to do. We had are ending date set as the end of the upcoming Sunday so that everyone had a clear time to finish their parts. We discussed what the general sounds of the film would be so that I could include them in the final cut, as well as what type of shots we would include for the shot.

I assisted in the creation of the casting report. I came up with some possible justifications we could include for any extra people we need and also helped gather some of the necessary contact information or availability of the people acting a part in the film. We also had demo on how to properly use the equipment and what it was capable of. I made sure to pay close attention just in case I had to fill in for the role or if the cinematographer had questions.

I learned that organization was a crucial part for creating a film. Going over what we needed to do for our parts helped stay on track for our film's creation. It made sure everyone understood the work that was required of them so that it would all be done. Establishing a deadline helped us make sure it got done on time to not make us fall behind. Having proper organization also made it easier to finish other parts of the portfolio since some of it is connected and having one part done, such as the script, made it easier to create our shot list. It also allowed us to get started on what we would shoot on certain days and who would be the best fit to bring along as actors for the film.
